Portmeirion Jupiter Cream / Sauce Bowl Petrol Blue, JB22 - Portmeirion

Portmeirion Jupiter Cream / Sauce Bowl Petrol Blue, JB22
Portmeirion

An unusual vintage Portmeirion cream / sauce bowl in the Jupiter design by Susan Williams-Ellis.

This is a rare and fabulous item. Not to be confused with the sugar bowl which is smaller.

This Serif design was introduced in 1964 and was the follow up design to the very successful Totem range. The back stamp on these plates are very feint, but are definitely there.

Jupiter

Produced from 1964 Jupiter was designed for the new serif shape of pottery. The design was named Jupiter due to its space age feel that was in keeping with the times. Production of this range continued until at least 1968. They were produced in brown and the more desirable blue. with some other trial colours produced along the way.
Very collectable and beautiful design.
