Totally Teapots

Totally Teapots was founded by Vince McDonald around 1999. He formed a Collectors Club that had worldwide members as he thoughts were that the Staffordshire Potteries were renowned as the world centre for pottery, and had produced many thousands of teapots, making England an ideal base for a worldwide teapot collectors club.

The club commissioned limited editions and commissions for various humorous and irreverent designs including a rare novelty teapot to chronicle the then current Iraq crisis. The teapot, called Tea-leaf of Baghdad, was shaped like an oil drum with Saddam Hussein as the genie figure forming the spout.

Vince also designed and commissioned the 20th Century Queens Teapot which was manufactured in 1999 by Bairstow Manor Pottery. The front of the teapot carries a full facial sculpture of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse carries a full facial sculpture of Queen Victoria. Queen Victoria brought in the 20th Century, Queen Elizabeth took the Century out - hence the title.

A 3D '2000' also made at Bairstow Manor pottery, was commissioned by Vince McDonald and modelled by Ray Noble for Totally Teapots.
