A very unusual and rare trinket dish from Portmeirion with a Mary Chess design.

This was a special commission highlighting Mary Chess, a famous American Perfumier in the 1930's from New York. From the Mottahedeh Department Store in New York. There is a flower and ribbons motif in gold foil transfer and a specific Mary Chess Collection By Portmeirion backstamp also in gold foil transfer
