Portmeirion

The Town Hall From The Portmeirion Village Buildings Collection.

This high quality hand painted resin model of the Town Hall in Portmeirion Village is one of six models produced by Portmeirion. This collection is now long discontinued and these models are quite hard to find.

The Town Hall was built in 1937 to house a unique barrel vaulted ceiling, representing the labours of Hercules between signs of the Zodiac. Having bought the ceiling Clough felt that he had to buy all the rest of the room at any cost. This building was the one that created Clough Williams- Ellis's reputation for having established a sort of "home for fallen buildings" and Clough described it as "an unabashed pastiche of venerable Jacobean bits and pieces".

Approx Dimensions:-
