Portmeirion Velocipedes Vintage Rolling Pin, VP8

A Rare And Collectable Vintage Portmeirion Velocipedes Rolling Pin.

A lovely condition rolling pin with original stoppers featuring Bramley And Parkers Tandem of 1830 and Crofts Punt Operated Machine of 1877.

There are a few brown speckles on one side.

Velocipedes

An interesting and quirky design range of monocycle, bicyle and tricycle illustrations collated from various sources including a 19th century copy of The Strand magazine. Some of the illustrations were redrawn by Susan with great effect, and when the range was launched in spring 1968, the jaunty images printed on jazzy bright glazes of yellow, blue and orange caught the eye and attracted many shoppers. The black tranfers were also produced on a variety of white ware.
