Tiger Lily
This was the first, full coloured floral motif designed by Susan Williams-Ellis, and emerged onto the market in 1961. She based the pattern on traditional, narrowboat folk art, enabling her to fully utilise the silk screen printing technique, and was very fond of this pattern all her life. This bright, bold, vibrant design captures the happy, hippy 60's to a tee. Stylised orange and brown lilies and pink roses sit amongst gorgeous, green foliage and were accompanied by either yellow, turquoise or pink banding. Tiger Lily was produced on commercially available white ware shapes and many of the kitchen items were from Kirkhams. Some items had block lettering denoting tea, coffee, sugar, flour etc. Tiger Lily was only produced until the mid 1960's and is a very collectable range.
