The Holly and the Ivy

In the 1600's there was a popular English carol called 'The Holly and the Ivy'. Susan Williams-Ellis's daughter, Anwyl Cooper-Willis incorporated a printed version of this alongside some antique illustrations of holly and ivy, to construct yet another endearing, long lasting and charming design in 1996 for the American market. Her design was launched in the UK in 1997 to popular acclaim. Based on the drum shaped ware, this traditional yet sophisticated pattern is more than happy to stand alone or mingle with other pieces of 'Botanic Garden' ware, a clever trick indeed. Testament to this is that it is still produced today.
