A Vintage Portmeirion Dusk 8 Inch Round Aluminium Serving Dish In Seasons Leaves.

This is a beautiful Aluminium 8 inch round serving dish in a lovely contemporary design.  This serving dish is hand cast in Aluminium and they were only made for a very short period of time making them quite rare to find. These are serving pieces and NOT for oven use.

There are some imperfections in the finish due to the hand casting which helps to make them more individual. There are some usage marks, please see the photographs.

The Seasons Collection
In 1999 Portmeirion unveiled a brand new design range called The Seasons Collection. This was a very contemporary design inspired by the natural forms and moods of nature. Seasons' Leaves and Seasons' Flowers are calm and peaceful designs on pastel background colours. In 2000, two new designs in this range called Dawn (by Julie Ingham) and Dusk (by Jo Gorman) were launched. Dawn is another pastel based design using images of seed heads, whilst Dusk continues the theme of the Seasons' collection but using rich bold glazes such as 'Midnight' and 'Aubergine' and skeletal forms of leaves. Dusk Impressions, the last of the new designs comprised of an embossed image of leaves on the items, perhaps a nod to Susan's original Totem, Cypher and Jupiter designs.
