A Vintage Portmeirion Birds Of America Oatmeal Bowl, Ruffed Grouse, Designed By Susan Williams-Ellis.

This is a wonderful chance to buy a sample for an oatmeal bowl in the rare Birds Of America range. 

There were not many items produced in this range and this bowl is an even rarer sample as shown on the backstamp.

There are some minor pimples in the glaze.

Birds of America

Produced around the same time as Birds of Britain, this mini series consisted of four different American Birds found in the United States of America. There is a Ruffed Grouse, Mallard Duck, Pintail Duck and Bobwhite Quail in the series. It was not extensively produced at all like the Birds of Britain and pieces seldom come up for sale due their rarity.
