Portmeirion Malachite Framed Malachite Fabric

Portmeirion Malachite Framed Malachite Fabric

Malachite fabric is EXTREMELY RARE.

Malachite was designed in 1959 by Susan Williams-Ellis - the iconic founder of Portmeirion Pottery.

The complete range of Malachite pottery, textiles and carpets was officially launched on 10th May 1960 at the Pont Street Portmeirion shop in London.

Malachite ceased production around 1966, with the textiles a little earlier.

This Malachite fabric was produced by ‘Bernard Wardle’ and printed onto satin furnishing fabric in fairly limited quantities.

Susan used it to furnish part of the hotel in Portmeirion Village, North Wales, owned by her famous architect father Sir Clough Williams-Ellis.

Purely Portmeirion have been fortunate to acquire a panel of this marvellous fabric, that had previously been utilised as a window drape during the 1960’s/70’s, and decided to share it with those not fortunate to ever see or have the opportunity to own such a fantastic piece of memorabilia!

CONGRATULATIONS!

You could now be the proud owner of a wonderful and unique piece of Portmeirion history.
