Pantomime Characters

In 1963 Pollock's Toy Theatres Ltd, produced a book detailing the history of the company and toy theatre plays. The book contained some of Pollock's delightful engravings of characters such as Harlequin and Columbine which appealed to Susan. Using these as her guide she then designed Pantomime Characters, redrawing them as the engravings were too delicate to work successfully as a transfer. Produced as a black print on various shapes of white ware in 1966. This is a very popular design with aficionados of the cult TV series 'The Prisoner'  starring Patrick McGhoohan. Shot in Portmeirion village in 1966/67 items of this range and that of Favorite Horsemen can be spotted in various episodes, thus making both ranges VERY popular with collectors.
